Dear CTC Friends & Supporters:

As part of our process of "Asset-Based Community Development", it is important to know the assets and resources within our community.

Using the model of ABCD, our approach to community development in the arts is 'strength based'- focusing on the gifts, talents, knowledge and skills of the community. We see people not 'agencies' or 'institutions', as the primary builders of community and we see YOU as part of our extended family.

Your support inspires the artists, children and the 'village', resulting in the mobilization of our community and its resources.

The nature of our collaboration involves so much work in many varied areas, and we are constantly looking for ideas, suggestions, and help. Other than what is 'seen' on Saturdays, we have many pre- and post-production needs.

On a sobering note, now in our third year, we have discovered that it takes years to develop foundation and corporate support, and so we would like to invite you to help us identify community and corporate support that maybe right under our noses. In the interim we have learned to beg, barter and borrow… someone's Xerox machine, a college dark-room lab (to develop photos), postage-meter…etc.

We might benefit from a good lead, if we knew more about YOU:
For example:

"I noticed you had antlers on your wall. Can we borrow one for our production of BULIWINKLES' REVENGE?
"OR"
I see you are a member of the Bronx Zoo's Tortoise Club. Think your mailing list might want to see our next play, YERTLE THE TURTLE?"

You get the picture…

In order to ascertain the strengths that you bring to our community and ask your help in the most efficient manner, we have created a more detailed survey for you to complete. All the questions are, of course, optional…but they will be a mammoth help in helping us assess our resources and access your expertise.

Thanks a bundle for your time and sacrifice.
